I am a freelance information law trainer, data protection and information management consultant and I offer remote data protection officer (DPO) services.

I only collect or use your personal information necessary to provide the support you need when you engage me as your remote DPO.
I will collect information about key contacts within your organisation and may also need to see
- Personal data relating to customers/staff when supporting you to respond to rights requests, complaints and breaches.
- Confidential company information/information about how you work when supporting your organisation to ensure data protection is considered in your projects/business transformation and change.
All remote DPO work is bound by a contract between your organisation and I and I will only use any personal information provided under your strict instructions. It is highly unlikely that I will need any of your personal data other than your company contact information which I will use on the grounds of my business interest in maintaining a good working relationship with you. Any personal data you provide to me as a separate controller when I deliver your remote data protection officer services will be only the minimum necessary and will be processed on my business interest in delivering services to your company.
Any information I collect from you is stored on secure UK based servers via my ICT service provider. They are contracted as my processor to provide services to me.

I will only keep your information for as long as our contract allows, unless I need to maintain it for other legal reasons. I may keep some limited information for financial purposes (i.e. to show who has paid invoices) but this is less likely to be personal information in most cases.
No. I don’t use any form of profiling or automated system decisions or anything else a bit sparkly in technology terms because I don’t need to and I don’t believe we should unless it’s truly necessary.

Occasionally though I might need to share information with my service providers (ICT, Insurance, Accounts).
There’s a bit more information about the companies I work with below so you can understand who they are and what they do. I will only ever share the minimum personal information necessary for them to support me and provide the services I need from them and this will be documented in our contract.
CloudTree are my ICT service they host and support my ICT needs and my website. They are my processor and are only able to access information on an occasional basis, on my instructions, and are bound by our contract to keep any information I share with them confidential. It is highly unlikely I will share any personal information with them but, like Cloud tree they are my processor and are only able to access information on an occasional basis on my instructions and are bound by our contract to keep any information I share with them confidential.
